Impregnated Diamond Core Bit
Impregnated diamond drill bits are designed to be used as grinders.
They are made by embedding diamonds in an infiltred or sintered
matrix. As the diamonds become worn and rounded due to usage, the
matrix erodes at the same rate; thus, new sharp diamonds are
uncovered to continue cutting through the rock.
The success of these bits depends on the combination of diamonds
and matrix used. With the nice feature of being self-sharpening due
to the simultaneous erosion of the matrix and the diamonds, the
T6-101 impregnated diamond core bit is ideal for a wide range of
rock formations.

are evenly mixed across a metal alloy matrix. The matrix erodes
