Reverse Circulation Hammer Introduction

Reverse Circulation RC drilling uses flush-threaded double-wall drill pipe and high-pressure air to provide continuous return of formation and water samples. Cuttings and formation waters are not contaminated with drilling additives or mixed with other borehole material. Up-hole velocity of about 70 ft/ sec provides reliable logging of water, mineral or contaminant-bearing strata. Water samples representative of specific strata may be airlifted or bailed to the surface.


Reverse Circulation Hammer Feature

1. RC drilling is over five times faster than core drilling, particularly in hard rock and almost half the cost of traditional core drilling.
2. RC hammers are pneumatically driven by compressors and the principal operation of a Reverse Circulation hammer and bits is the same as a standard DTH hammer.
3. RC hammers and bits follow the high performance design associated with traditional DTH equipment and return the highest quality uncontaminated sample.
